Effective leadership

We believe that leaders who care create trust and build a safe foundation. The latter enables them to challenge employees to reach their full potential. This captures the essence of high-performance leadership.
This philosophy is a returning theme in the training programs we provide. All directors and partners get the opportunity to complete the High-Performance Leadership program at IMD Business School. Additionally, we’ve designed a three-day training course called ‘Care to Dare the IG&H way’ under the guidance of Susan Goldsworthy of IMD Business School. This course, which is taught to all employees, specifically tailors the High-Performance Leadership theory and method to IG&H’s way of working.

To boost motivation, it’s important to show appreciation. We express our appreciation in various ways.

Giving and receiving praise

We facilitate the positive feedback process by actively using our Impraise app. Co-workers can easily praise each other at any time by clicking a ‘thumbs up’ icon. If they want to, they can also add a personal message. This year alone, more than 500 ‘praises’ have been exchanged. What better way to boost motivation than an unexpected yet well-deserved compliment from a co-worker?


Calling attention to special achievements

All special achievements deserve attention. If, for example, an employee or a team went out of their way to get something done or realized a mention-worthy goal, we shine a spotlight on these co-workers during our Business Update or other company events. A partner expresses appreciation for these employees and explains their special achievement, which may or may not be work related. For example, we believe a special sports achievement, such as running a marathon, is quite the accomplishment and should therefore be highlighted, too.
